The Russian branch of Ghana's New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated all newly elected members of the National Executive Committee on their hard-earned victory. In a statement, Ebenezer Wepari, Chair of the NPP Russia Branch, expressed confidence that the new leadership will strengthen the party and advance its common agenda. Wepari commended all aspirants who participated in the delegate conference for their courage, commitment, and contribution to the democratic process.
Wepari emphasized that although an election may produce winners and losers, the shared vision for the party remains greater than any individual contest. He therefore urged defeated aspirants to come on board and lend their experience, wisdom, ideas, and strategic expertise to the elected executives as they work towards the 2028 victory. This, he believes, will help unite the party and build a stronger NPP.
During the conference, John Boadu was elected as the national chairman of the NPP. Following his election, Boadu assured that he would lead a renewed NPP going into the next general elections. He promised that the new executives would serve the NPP with humility and work with every branch of the party. Boadu also emphasized the importance of working closely with regional executives, constituents, external branches, and Members of Parliament.
The other elected executives include Daniel Titus Glover as National Organiser, Mavis Hawa Koomson as national women's organiser, and Yakubu Abanga as national youth organiser. Justin Kodua Frimpong was reelected as General Secretary of the NPP, securing victory with 4486 votes. The elections were held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Yakubu Abanga emerged victorious in a keenly contested election for the National Youth Organiser position, polling 1550 votes to defeat five other aspirants. The NPP Russia Branch chair also expressed appreciation to all External Branch Executives who travelled to participate in the conference, demonstrating their commitment to the party and strengthening bonds among branches worldwide.
Wepari thanked all delegates for their participation, maturity, and dedication throughout the process. He urged party members to put their differences behind them, build bridges, support one another, and focus on the bigger picture: a stronger NPP and a successful 2028 victory. The NPP Russia Branch chair concluded by wishing everyone a safe journey home and God's blessings.
The NPP's new national executives have a significant task ahead of them as they work to build a renewed party that listens and consults more. With collective wisdom, discipline, and commitment, they are expected to provide the leadership required to strengthen the party and advance its common agenda. The party's 2028 victory will depend on its ability to unite and work towards a common goal.
