The Nigerian Army, under the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks in Adamawa State, killing 16 terrorists and recovering significant arms and ammunition. According to the Acting Military Information Officer, Mohammed Goni, the operations took place between September 30 and October 1, 2026, targeting the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area and other locations within Sector 4 Area of Operations.

In the Boima area, troops ambushed a terrorist enclave, resulting in the neutralization of 16 terrorists. A subsequent search led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun, six AK-47 magazines, and a belt of pump-action cartridges. This significant haul indicates the substantial firepower of the terrorist group and the success of the military operation in disrupting their activities.

The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI also conducted a precision air strike on October 1, targeting a group of 16 terrorists gathered with 15 motorcycles in Sector 4. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance platforms detected the terrorists under a tree canopy, leading to a precision strike at about 5:30 a.m. A battle damage assessment confirmed that the target had been destroyed, with some surviving terrorists reportedly fleeing the area.

In addition to the operations in Boima and Sector 4, troops also repelled coordinated attacks on military positions at 226 Battalion in Garkida and 232 Battalion in Garaha. The attackers were forced to withdraw following the troops' response. Unfortunately, three soldiers were killed during the fighting, while wounded personnel were evacuated and are receiving medical treatment in stable condition.

The Theatre Command has stated that these operations are part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination between land and air components and deny terrorists freedom of action across the North East. The military continues to engage in follow-up exploitation and mop-up operations across the affected areas to ensure the region's security.

The Nigerian Army has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies as military operations continue. This appeal highlights the importance of community involvement in the fight against terrorism and the need for sustained cooperation between the military and civilians.

The recent operations in Adamawa State demonstrate the Nigerian Army's commitment to combating terrorism and securing the North East region. With ongoing efforts to enhance coordination and response, the military aims to create a safer environment for local communities and prevent further terrorist activities.
