Maltina, Nigeria's first locally produced malt drink, launched in 1976, has grown alongside generations of Nigerians, becoming a familiar presence in homes, celebrations, and everyday gatherings. To mark its 50th anniversary, the brand has introduced a new look, strengthening its connection with consumers while expressing its longstanding commitment to nourishment, happiness, and togetherness. The new visual identity confidently brings the brand's iconic colors, nourishment credentials, and "Since 1976" heritage to the fore.

The refreshed visual identity includes new packaging across Maltina's glass bottles, cans, and PET bottles. The design gives familiar features greater prominence, pairing a more contemporary expression with clear reminders of the brand's heritage. A Gold Crown Cork on the glass bottle, refreshed sunrays, and a more prominent Golden Barley Icon bring new definition to the pack. The barley sheaf draws attention to the malt ingredient, while a bolder Calcium Coin highlights nourishment.

Maltina has renewed its partnerships with Tomike Adeoye and Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie, to champion its nourishment and happiness story. Both ambassadors bring distinctive personalities and strong connections with their audiences, helping Maltina express its values. Tomike has been a Maltina ambassador for six years, while KieKie joined last year. They will continue to bring their creativity and personal connections with consumers to experiences centered on nourishment, happiness, and togetherness.

The Maltina Nourishment Tour, developed with STEM Africa Fest, combines nutrition education with practical science activities, giving students opportunities to ask questions, experiment, and learn through participation. Designed to reach one million young minds over four years, the program had reached more than 300,000 students across over 125 schools by July 2026, surpassing its initial first-year target. School visits have covered Lagos, Oyo, Rivers, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory.

Tomike and KieKie have helped bring the Maltina Nourishment Tour experiences to life. KieKie visited her alma mater, United Missionary Comprehensive College in Molete, Ibadan, while Tomike joined the initiative at Maverick College in Samonda, Ibadan. Their involvement gives the ambassador partnerships an expression beyond campaigns and appearances, connecting with everyone, especially students, through activities that encourage curiosity and discovery.

Maltina's commitment to nourishment extends beyond its products to education and community development. The brand's Teacher of the Year initiative, now in its 12th year, celebrates educators shaping Nigeria's future, recognizing and rewarding outstanding secondary school teachers since 2015. Maltina Classic, the brand's flagship product, is calcium-fortified, Vitamin A-rich, and delivers the equivalent of half a glass of milk in every 33cl bottle.

To mark the 50th anniversary, Maltina has launched the "What's Your Word?" campaign, inviting Nigerians to experience the new design and describe it for themselves. Consumers can find the new packs in stores nationwide and submit one word capturing their impression at maltina.nbplc.com. The responses will give the people who have shared in Maltina's story a voice in how its next chapter is expressed.
