The Nigeria Police Force has reported the arrest of a 27-year-old mother, Precious Yohana, who allegedly killed her baby boy in the Federal Capital Territory. According to CSP Ani Iniedu, the Force Public Relations Officer, surveillance personnel responded to a distress call about an abandoned baby in a bush and discovered the body with severe cut injuries. Preliminary investigation led to Yohana's arrest, who confessed to delivering the baby unaided and using a razor blade to inflict the injuries. The case is being investigated by the CID Abuja.

Iniedu listed other arrests linked to murder cases and crimes, as well as the recovery of weapons and rescue of kidnapped victims, among the achievements of police operatives across the country. In Kogi State, two female suspects, Olorunada Suzan and Sixirat Moses, were arrested in connection with the murder of 90-year-old Juliana Joel. The elderly woman was found dead under her bed with her throat slit. The body has been deposited in the morgue as investigations continue under the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Police operatives in Kano State arrested 20-year-old Halifa Miko for allegedly stabbing his 30-year-old stepmother, Hajara, seven times in the stomach with a long-pointed iron. Hajara was rushed to Dawakin/Tofa General Hospital, where she was confirmed dead. The weapon was recovered, and the case is under investigation by SCID Bompai. These arrests demonstrate the police force's efforts to combat violent crimes across Nigeria.

In Rivers State, three members of a notorious armed robbery and kidnapping gang, Chinemerem Uchiewọ, Michael Ishaka, and Gideon Okah, were arrested over alleged involvement in multiple murder, robbery, and kidnapping incidents. The suspects confessed to multiple robberies and kidnappings, as well as the robbery and murder of Joseph Onyeka in Rumuji community on July 23, 2026. Officers recovered six firearms, including two AK-47 rifles, from the suspects.

Police operatives also rescued two abducted farm laborers from kidnappers in Kano State and a five-year-old girl from an alleged abductor in the FCT.
