Niger's Minister of Public Service, Labour and Employment, Aissatou Abdoulaye Tondi, and her Algerian counterpart, Mohamed Hattab, co-chaired the launch ceremony of training sessions for 500 young Nigerien trainees in Boumerdès, Algeria. The event took place during a working visit by Tondi from October 1 to 3, 2026, in the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria. The visit aimed to follow up on the conclusions of the second session of the Algerian-Nigerien Mixed Cooperation Commission.

Tondi was received at Algiers' Houari-Boumédiène International Airport by Hattab and Niger's Ambassador to Algeria, Aminou Malam Manzo. The visit is part of the efforts to strengthen consultation between the two countries in labour, employment, and public service. It also implements decisions and orientations from Niger's President Abdourahamane Tiani and Algeria's President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The program seeks to consolidate historical and privileged relations between the two nations.

The training program covers 19 technical and professional specialties and was launched in the presence of several officials, including Boumerdès' Wali, local elected officials, civil and security authorities, and training structure managers. Tondi was accompanied by a delegation of officials and cadres from her ministry. The initiative reflects the willingness of both heads of state to prioritize youth, training, and skills development in bilateral cooperation.

The program provides quality training in various technical fields, with beneficiaries receiving comprehensive support, including accommodation and catering.
