The successful candidate will contribute to the company's ability to create, protect, and sustain value by providing independent risk-based and objective assurance advice, insight, and foresight. The Senior Internal Auditor will identify areas for improvement and business solutions to ensure the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. The role involves developing and supervising risk-based audit plans, performing risk and control assessments, and executing assigned audit procedures.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Internal Auditor include reviewing team members' work for accuracy and compliance, preparing clear and concise working papers to record audit results, and identifying improvements in risk management, governance, and control. The Senior Internal Auditor will also prepare high-quality draft internal audit reports, conduct follow-up reviews for previously reported high-risk findings, and develop and oversee the execution of spot checks plans.
To qualify for the position, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, IT, or a business-related field. ACCA/CPA certification (Level 3) or full certification is required, while CIA, CISA, or CFE certifications are an added advantage. Advanced business-related degrees and at least 4-5 years of working experience in an audit environment are also required. External audit experience is considered an added advantage.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent audit, accounting, and IT skills, as well as good knowledge of IT audit skills, including the use of Computer-Aided Audit Tools (CAAT). Strong analytical skills, knowledge of IPPF standards and IFRS, and business acumen are also essential. The Senior Internal Auditor should be highly organized, with strong organization and planning skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver assigned audits in line with the audit plan.
In terms of behavioral competencies, the Senior Internal Auditor should demonstrate courage in discharging internal audit responsibilities, act in a professional and ethical manner, and maintain confidentiality. Excellent oral and written communication skills, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are also required.
