The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has set up its National Election Mobilisation Committee to sensitise, mobilise and monitor student participation in the 2027 general elections. NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, announced this in a statement on Sunday. Afeez said Nigerian students, with over 40.1 million members, form a significant voting bloc and major stakeholders in nation-building who cannot afford to be indifferent to the democratic process.

The committee will coordinate sensitisation and mobilisation activities across the six geopolitical zones and work with NANS structures, Students’ Union Governments (SUGs) and other stakeholders across campuses.
