Egypt's Red Sea Governor, Dr. Walid El-Bargi, recently convened a meeting to assess the outcomes of a new traffic plan implemented in Hurghada. The plan, developed by the Red Sea Traffic Administration, aims to regulate traffic flow in key areas and intersections. During the meeting, El-Bargi evaluated the plan's effectiveness, focusing on vehicle and pedestrian movement, and identifying both advantages and challenges. The goal is to achieve optimal traffic flow and enhance safety within the city.

The meeting examined the practical application of the traffic plan over the past period, highlighting observations on vehicle and pedestrian movement. This assessment aims to determine the plan's merits and drawbacks, ultimately leading to improved traffic management solutions. El-Bargi emphasized that evaluating new traffic arrangements relies on on-street monitoring and consideration of citizens' and drivers' needs.

El-Bargi issued directives to promptly initiate an assessment of roads slated for resurfacing in Hurghada. He instructed a study on the impact of development work on traffic flow, linking resurfacing plans to actual needs on each axis. A committee comprising representatives from the Hurghada Local Unit, Traffic Administration, Roads Area, and Projects Management will conduct on-site inspections, documenting lengths, areas, and preparing estimated surveys.

The committee will assess vehicle movement and traffic maneuvers on roads targeted for development, prioritizing resurfacing based on traffic volume, road conditions, and area needs. El-Bargi stressed that the upcoming phase will rely on precise road assessments before implementation, ensuring swift completion, quality work, and a direct impact on citizens' movement, safety, and service levels.

The Red Sea Roads Area will oversee the inspections and necessary procedures, preceding the signing of a protocol between the governorate and the area. This will enable the commencement of resurfacing work according to agreed-upon priorities. El-Bargi's directives aim to address citizens' needs and enhance services provided.

Effective traffic management is crucial for Hurghada, a major tourist hub. The governorate's efforts focus on balancing traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and urban development. By engaging multiple stakeholders, the administration seeks to create comprehensive solutions addressing the city's growth.

The governorate's initiatives are expected to improve the quality of life for residents and enhance the tourist experience. The projects will be executed based on thorough assessments and prioritization, reflecting the governorate's commitment to responsive governance and public service enhancement.
