A former Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi South, Jemimah Dutse, was laid to rest on Wednesday in Lafiyan Sara Village, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State. She was found dead in her residence with her throat slit by unidentified assailants over the weekend. According to a neighbour, Jonathan Josiah, Dutse was hit with a pestle on the head, stabbed with a knife on the chest, and slaughtered like a ram.

The funeral service was held at the Church Of Christ In Nations Center in Bauchi, where hundreds of sympathizers gathered to pay their last respects to Dutse. Family, friends, and political associates shared glowing tributes to the 51-year-old, describing her as calm, kind, loving, and peaceful. Her daughter, Deborah, described her mother as her first teacher, protector, and comfort, saying she didn't deserve to be killed cruelly and unjustly.

Deborah read a heartfelt tribute, saying her mother's voice calmed her and her prayers covered her. She expressed her heartbreak, stating that her mother was taken away from her cruelly and unjustly by unknown hands. Dutse's siblings also shared their tributes, saying her death has left a painful emptiness in their family and that they will cherish the beautiful memories they shared together.

Rev. Yohanna Daniel, Chairman of the Regional Church Council, condemned the rising incidents of violence in Bauchi, citing this as the third incident of its kind. He called for action to stem the tide of wickedness, stating that enough is enough and that people must take responsibility to stop such acts. Daniel urged those committing wicked acts to stop, warning that God will deal with them and bring them to judgment.

Rev. Ibrahim Garba, who delivered the sermon, read from Ecclesiastes 3:1-4, saying that nothing happens on earth without God's knowledge. He acknowledged the worries and questions surrounding Dutse's death, but encouraged the congregation to trust in God's timing. Garba's message was a call to faith and patience in the face of tragedy and uncertainty.

The murder of Jemimah Dutse has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The incident has also raised concerns about the safety of women in Bauchi State, with many demanding action from authorities to address the issue. The APC has also been affected by Dutse's death, with many party members and leaders paying their respects to the deceased.

The burial of Jemimah Dutse marks the end of an outpouring of tributes and condolences from across Nigeria. Her legacy as a kind and loving person will be remembered by those who knew her.
