Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has revealed that he chose to perform for 8,000 fans over meeting American music mogul Jay-Z. In an interview with Focus on Africa host Waihiga Mwaura, Mr Eazi explained that he had been invited to attend the premiere of Beyoncé's 'The Lion King: The Gift' project, which was expected to be a small dinner attended by Jay-Z. However, he had already committed to a show and the organisers had paid him to perform.

Mr Eazi regards Jay-Z as a guiding figure in both music and business, but he prioritized his commitment to his audience. He explained that he had produced and made some music with Beyoncé for The Lion King: The Gift project, but he couldn't attend the gathering because he had a show with 8,000 fans coming to watch him. Mr Eazi said that if it was meant to be, it would happen, indicating that he values his commitment to his fans.

Mr Eazi's business interests span approximately 24 African countries, and he is directly or indirectly involved in business activities across the continent. During the interview, he disclosed that his ventures are extensive, and his comments came in the context of a discussion about the scale of his ventures and remarks previously made by Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote about his business interests.

In addition to music, Mr Eazi has developed business interests across several African markets. His interests also include sports development, particularly through Locker Room Bonus, a programme designed to reward athletes after victories in leagues with which it partners. Under the initiative, players receive bonuses directly in their mobile money wallets after their teams win matches.

Mr Eazi's marriage to Temi Otedola has helped him develop a greater understanding of himself. He said that his partner has become a mirror, showing him the best and worst parts of himself. Mr Eazi pointed to self-awareness as the key aspect of his relationship, saying that committing to a relationship can reveal aspects of one's personality that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Mr Eazi's reflections suggest that marriage has offered him an opportunity for personal growth, allowing him to recognise both his strengths and weaknesses through his partner's perspective. He added that he wouldn't have been able to see certain aspects of himself if he hadn't committed to a partner. This personal growth is reflected in his broader approach to entrepreneurship.

Mr Eazi's ventures reflect a broader approach to entrepreneurship that extends beyond entertainment and into different sectors of the African economy. His commitment to his audience, business interests, and personal growth demonstrate his multifaceted approach to his career and life. With his extensive business interests and commitment to sports development, Mr Eazi continues to expand his influence across Africa.
