Telecom service provider Moytel has secured three major ISO certifications, specifically ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management). This achievement was announced by Moytel's Chief Executive Officer, Nnamdi Igwiloh, in Lagos on Tuesday, September 30, 2026. The certifications signify a formal validation of the operational culture established at Moytel since its inception.
According to Igwiloh, the attainment of these quality certifications represents what Moytel stands for, which is professionalism and excellence in everything they do. He emphasized that this achievement incentivizes their clients, demonstrating that Moytel not only talks about quality but also walks the talk. The certifications are expected to put Moytel on its toes to achieve greater milestones.
To ensure high standards are maintained across field operations and internal departments, Moytel has established a dedicated Quality Department. This department is tasked with ensuring that the company stays focused on quality and compliance in all aspects of its operations. The department is fully staffed with professionals equipped to continuously audit Moytel's processes.
Igwiloh attributed Moytel's rapid growth as a relatively young organization to its customer-centric approach and constant self-evaluation. He stated that what sets Moytel apart is its relentless focus on quality and customer satisfaction, striving not just to meet but exceed expectations. This approach has enabled Moytel to rapidly grow in a highly competitive telecom vendor landscape.
Reflecting on the challenges of operating across multiple African markets, Igwiloh noted that infrastructure, financial logistics, and communication remain persistent obstacles. However, he emphasized that these challenges are solvable through local strategy. Mr. Samuel Udo, head of business operations at Moytel, also highlighted that attaining all three certifications simultaneously was an intentional effort driven by top management to elevate service delivery.
The certification journey was not without hurdles, according to Mr. Olawale Ojo, Service Delivery Manager at Moytel. He noted that operating in complex environments outside major urban centers presents distinct logistical and stakeholder challenges. Internally, the company had to navigate initial employee resistance to structured processes and new documentation requirements. To sustain the ISO momentum, Moytel is leveraging emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to refine internal workflows and maintain compliance.
Mr. John Aderibigbe, a management consultant, emphasized that the future of ISO consulting is not just about creating documents for organizations but also about building organizational capability. He noted that the role of consultants is to help businesses understand the standards, own their systems, and turn internationally recognized requirements into measurable business value. With these certifications, Moytel is poised to deepen its footprint beyond Nigeria and extend its expertise into adjacent technology and IT sectors.
