In celebration of the first anniversary of Morocco's Unity Day, the province of Gercif has embarked on a comprehensive development plan. The initiative, led by provincial governor Abd al-Salam al-Hatash, aims to enhance infrastructure, education, and agricultural sectors. The projects, which include sanitation, education, and agricultural development, are expected to significantly improve living conditions for residents.

The development projects in Gercif province include the rehabilitation of the liquid sanitation network in the Chouiber Zaidan neighborhood, with an investment of nearly 19 million dirhams. Additionally, a stormwater drainage network project worth approximately 9.67 million dirhams has been launched to mitigate flood risks and enhance infrastructure. These projects demonstrate the government's commitment to improving public services and protecting residents from natural disasters.

The education sector is also a key focus area, with the construction of a new secondary school, "Al-Wahda," in the Tadarart commune. The project, valued at around 9.67 million dirhams, aims to expand educational opportunities in rural areas and reduce obstacles to education. The new school will feature 14 classrooms, administrative and sports facilities, and will be built on a 10,000 square meter site.

In the agricultural sector, the provincial governor has overseen the distribution of seeds for direct planting to local farmers' cooperatives, with an investment of approximately 1.18 million dirhams. This initiative supports the "Green Generation" strategy, promoting modern farming techniques and enhancing crop yields. Furthermore, two projects to plant carob trees in the Ras al-Qasr commune have been launched, covering an area of 335 hectares and valued at over 6.1 million dirhams.

The carob tree planting projects aim to diversify agricultural activities, increase farmers' income, and enhance the sector's resilience to climate change. According to the provincial director of agriculture, Rashid al-Tayyibi, the distribution of seeds and planting of carob trees are part of a broader strategy to promote sustainable agriculture and improve rural livelihoods.

In addition to these projects, equipment has been provided to support social and solidarity-based economic activities, including catering equipment for the Tamoulit cooperative in Ras al-Qasr, valued at approximately 203,000 dirhams. Furthermore, equipment for the distillation of medicinal and aromatic plants has been provided to two cooperatives in the Mrijah and Ras al-Qasr areas, with an investment of around 165,000 dirhams.

These development projects, launched on the occasion of Unity Day, reflect the government's commitment to promoting territorial development and improving living conditions in Gercif province. The initiatives aim to enhance infrastructure, support education and agriculture, and foster social and economic development, ultimately contributing to sustainable development in the region.
