Krisni notes that many patients struggle to afford these expenses, and the lack of reimbursement for stoma equipment and accessories exacerbates the issue. While some medical devices are covered by the country's healthcare system, the reimbursement process can be complex and often inadequate.
Krisni's association, Astoma, aims to address these challenges by providing support, advocacy, and education to individuals with stomas. The organization will offer workshops, support groups, and resources to help patients adapt to their condition and live a normal life.
