The 29th edition of Écomondo, a prominent event dedicated to ecological transition, is set to occur from November 3-6 at the Rimini Exhibition Park in Italy. This year's event will feature over 70 conferences, meetings, and workshops, focusing on key issues related to ecological transition, circular economy, resource management, and international cooperation. The event is organized by the International Technical-Scientific Committee in collaboration with European and international public and private partners.

The event's program will cover a wide range of topics, including the circular economy, management of resources, critical raw materials, textiles, sustainable cities, and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation. These topics will be discussed through various events, conferences, and workshops, offering a comprehensive overview of the major challenges redefining the global ecological transition. Many sessions will be conducted in English to project Écomondo beyond the Euro-Mediterranean region.

One of the key events, "Circular Economy in Action: e-waste and waste batteries best practices," will be organized in collaboration with ERION. This event will provide an overview of European experiences in recycling critical raw materials, analyzing the situation in Italy and evaluating the role of recycling in reducing European dependence on imports. Another event, "Plastic circularity: new perspectives and critical issues," will focus on European measures to support the transition to a more circular economy.

The event "Scaling the circular economy in the built environment: urban mining" will analyze the current regulatory framework, opportunities, and technologies supporting the implementation of urban mining models. Additionally, "Tools to accelerate the development of the circular economy in the construction and infrastructure sector" will facilitate dialogue among sector stakeholders. These events aim to promote efficient resource use and accelerate ecological transition.

Critical raw materials will be a central topic of discussion at the "EU-Africa Strategic Corridors to a mutually beneficial cooperation for critical raw materials" event. The circular economy will be measured during the fifth edition of a workshop organized with the Sant'Anna School of Pisa, ENEA, and the UN Global Compact Network Italy. The role of the textile industry in the European circular economy will also be highlighted during several event sessions.

The Écomondo event will also address the challenges, opportunities, and implications of the Circular Economy Act for European packaging and waste management actors. The textile sector will be a significant focus, with the Textile Working Group defining a specific program of events for the sector. Other meetings will discuss how cities can accelerate the circular transition.

Écomondo's 29th edition is expected to bring together various stakeholders to discuss and address the complexities of ecological transition. With its comprehensive program of events, conferences, and workshops, the event aims to promote a more circular and sustainable economy. The event's organizers expect a diverse range of participants, including experts, policymakers, and industry professionals.
