The Kingdom of Morocco is set to host the second edition of the ISF World School Golf Championship (WSGC) in Taghazout from November 2-8, 2026. The championship, organized by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Hassan II Trophy Association, in partnership with the International School Sports Federation (ISF), will bring together 19 nations to compete at the Tazegzout Golf Course. This event marks a significant milestone in promoting golf as a sport and educational tool for young people.

The WSGC was first held in July 2025 in Rabat, Morocco, with 64 young athletes from 16 nations and regions participating. The inaugural event laid the groundwork for a championship that combines sports excellence, educational content, and intercultural exchange. Morocco's Mustapha Zine, Vice-President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, emphasized that the second edition aims to build on the success of the first edition and further the vision of Prince Moulay Rachid, who prioritizes youth development in golf.

The Tazegzout Golf Course, designed by Kyle Phillips, offers a stunning Atlantic backdrop for the competition. The 18-hole course, with a par of 72, spans over 6,700 meters and provides an ideal setting for an international tournament. The championship will feature stroke play over 72 holes, with four individual titles awarded in the U15 and U18 categories for both boys and girls.

The Moroccan team will defend their title as champions, having won the first-ever WSGC team title in 2025. Sofia Cherif Essakali, Saad Ahalouch, Mohamed Baouhamou, and Salam El Hali secured the top spot with a score of -10 over 72 holes, ahead of Thailand and Chinese Taipei. Moroccan players also claimed three individual titles, with Sofia Cherif Essakali, Hicham Rachidi, and Mohamed Baouhamou emerging as winners in their respective categories.

The WSGC 2026 program includes a range of activities, such as the opening ceremony, ISF Academy sessions, a cultural day, Nations Night, and a closing ceremony. These events reflect the championship's three core pillars: sports, education, and cultural exchange. The partnership between the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the ISF aims to promote golf in schools and develop the sport globally.

The second edition of the WSGC is part of a larger agreement between the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the ISF to host the championship in Morocco in 2025, 2026, and 2028. By supporting the WSGC, the federation and its partners seek to bridge the gap between golf and the school world, providing opportunities for young people and contributing to the sport's international growth.

As the competition approaches, excitement is building among participants and organizers alike. With its unique blend of sports, education, and culture, the WSGC has established itself as a premier event in the golfing world. The second edition promises to be an unforgettable experience for the young athletes and a significant step forward in promoting golf as a tool for personal and educational development.
