The Moroccan group Intelcia has inaugurated a new site in Tunisia, spanning over 6000 square meters at Lac II, Tunis. This development marks a significant milestone in the group's strategy for the country. The site currently employs over 300 people and has 850 operational positions, with plans to reach a capacity of 1000 positions within a year. This expansion is part of Intelcia's goal to establish Tunisia as a hub for skills and innovation, particularly for European markets.

Intelcia attributes its decision to invest in Tunisia to the availability of qualified and multilingual talent, as well as the country's geographical and cultural proximity to Europe. The group's Tunisian operations will not be limited to the local market, as the site already handles activities for international clients, including those in the telecommunications and travel sectors. Additionally, the site provides multilingual services for markets in Italy, the United States, France, and other European and international markets.

The new site, which began operating progressively in July 2025, currently utilizes only a portion of its capacity. According to reports, it is functioning at around 30% of its capabilities, with the goal of reaching full capacity within a year. Intelcia plans to gradually expand its activities in Tunis, developing both its customer experience and IT services, combining human resources, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Intelcia's expansion in Tunisia is part of its broader strategy to evolve with the outsourcing sector, which is being transformed by artificial intelligence. The group aims to combine automation and AI-based services with human expertise, particularly to offer more complex services to European businesses. With over 40,000 employees in 19 countries, Intelcia's presence in Tunisia is expected to grow, as evident from its website, which currently lists 400 collaborators.

The site's growth comes at a time when the sector is undergoing significant changes, particularly in the French market, where commercial telemarketing to individuals now requires prior consent, effective August 11, 2026. This change affects not only French operators but also foreign operators providing services to French companies. Intelcia's investment in Tunisia may be seen as a strategic move to adapt to these changes and reduce dependence on traditional telemarketing.

Intelcia's decision to invest in Tunisia, a country that could be considered a competitor, may seem counterintuitive. However, the group's focus on developing skills and innovation in the country, as well as its goal to establish Tunisia as a hub for European markets, suggests that it sees significant potential for growth and returns on investment.

As Intelcia continues to expand its presence in Tunisia, it is likely to face opportunities and challenges in the evolving outsourcing sector. With its new site at Lac II, the group is well-positioned to capitalize on the country's skilled workforce and strategic location, while navigating the complexities of the changing market landscape.
