The Moroccan flag has been raised at the Christophe de Margerie school in Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of the Congo, in recognition of Morocco's commitment to Africa through education and South-South cooperation. The school, which was inaugurated in February by President Denis Sassou N'Guesso, aims to provide academic excellence and environmental education.

The flag-raising ceremony was attended by Moroccan Ambassador to the Republic of Congo, Najoua El Berrak, who stated that Morocco's commitment to Africa begins with its children. El Berrak emphasized that the students at the school are the pioneers of Africa's future and that Morocco is proud to grow alongside them.

During the ceremony, Ambassador El Berrak also presented the school with a pedagogical fresco titled "Here Grow the Pioneers of Africa," depicting children from different continents on a Moroccan carriage. This initiative solidifies the partnership between the Moroccan embassy and the school in the field of education and childhood, within the framework of South-South cooperation.

The Christophe de Margerie school has a capacity for 630 students and offers general education from primary to high school, complemented by modules on sustainable development, biodiversity, and ecological risk management. The school promotes equal opportunities by accepting students from diverse social backgrounds, including vulnerable children.

Ambassador El Berrak was joined by several high-ranking officials, including the President of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council, Émilienne Raoul, and the representative of UNESCO in Congo, Fatoumata Barry Marega. The event highlights the strong partnership between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the field of education.

The school's curriculum focuses on environmental education, with modules dedicated to sustainable development, biodiversity, ethnobotany, and ecological land management. This approach aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.

The flag-raising ceremony is a symbol of Morocco's commitment to Africa's future and its investment in the education of African children. The partnership between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo in education is expected to continue, with future joint projects to be defined with the school and the UNESCO office in Brazzaville.
