The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities participated in the Monaco International Yacht Show, which took place from September 23 to 26, with the aim of promoting Egyptian tourism and showcasing the country's capabilities in the yacht tourism sector. The ministry was represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, which has been participating in the event for the second consecutive year. The show featured 560 exhibitors from 40 countries, including major companies and institutions in the yacht industry.
The Egyptian pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, and other officials, including the Ambassador of Egypt in Marseille. Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the Egyptian pavilion, where he was received by Dr. Youssef, and expressed his admiration for Egyptian civilization and his interest in it. The prince also mentioned his recent visit to Egypt for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Dr. Ahmed Youssef stated that Egypt's participation in the event comes within the framework of the state's efforts to maximize the benefits of yacht tourism and develop it globally. He highlighted Egypt's competitive advantages in this field, including its strategic location between the Mediterranean and Red Seas, and the development of its yacht services infrastructure.
The Egyptian delegation also conducted a tour of the port, visiting several yachts participating in the show, including the SPRIBE yacht, which is 50 meters long. The delegation listened to a detailed presentation on the global demand for large yachts and the developments in the yacht industry worldwide.
On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Ahmed Youssef held several professional meetings with leaders and representatives of major international institutions operating in the yacht industry. The meetings aimed to discuss opportunities for cooperation and support for yacht tourism in Egypt.
Dr. Youssef met with Bernard d’Alessandri, Secretary-General of the Monaco Yacht Club, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and support yacht tourism in Egypt. He also met with the President of the International Yacht Association and the CEO of IYC Yachts to discuss opportunities to increase yacht tourism in Egypt.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities participated in the show with a 72-square-meter pavilion, located at the entrance of one of the main areas of the event. The pavilion featured several Egyptian companies operating in the yacht and maritime tourism sectors, including Felix, the Gulf Marine Transport Agency, and the Egyptian Tourism Development Company.
