Since the initiative's launch in April 2026, the partnership has made notable progress towards its goal, collecting and removing 21 tons of waste from the Nile River between April and August 2026, representing 70% of the total target for the year. The collected waste was transported to VeryNile's collection center for cleaning, sorting, and preparing for recycling, contributing to a sustainable path that tracks waste movement and recycling accurately.
The initiative continues to have a tangible environmental impact, in addition to its role in supporting local communities through its network of fishermen partners with VeryNile, who play a crucial role in collecting waste from the Nile. The amount of collected waste has steadily increased, rising from 3 tons per month during the first three months of the initiative to 7 tons in August alone, reflecting the efforts made to achieve its annual goal.
