Founder and Executive Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley, has called on Ghanaian youth to prioritize problem-solving, attitude development, and sustainable business practices to achieve wealth creation and economic empowerment. He made this statement as a panelist at the High-Level Dialogue on “Reimagining Ghana’s Future: CEOs at the Heart of the Reset Agenda” held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra on October 29, 2029.

Dr. McKorley emphasized that wealth creation often stems from identifying societal challenges and developing solutions to address them. He stressed that the richest people in the world are those who solve problems, and there are numerous problems waiting to be addressed. He encouraged young people to look beyond job searching and recognize opportunities in entrepreneurship that can address societal and economic challenges.

According to Dr. McKorley, his approach to making money is based on the 70-25-5 principle, where 70% is attributed to attitude, 25% to scale, and 5% to knowledge. He believes that having the right attitude is fundamental to success, as knowledge and opportunities alone may not produce the desired results without the discipline and character required to sustain them.

Dr. McKorley highlighted the importance of establishing systems and structures to protect and manage wealth as businesses grow. He explained that while earning money is crucial, entrepreneurs must develop effective financial and operational systems to preserve their resources and support long-term growth. This approach combines personal values with sound business management practices.

Dr. McKorley disclosed that his business group provides more than 10,000 jobs and expressed his ambition to train and mentor entrepreneurs who can replicate that impact across the economy. He wants to create a chain of entrepreneurs who can establish businesses, employ workers, and contribute to broader economic development.

The McDan Group chairman also emphasized the role of education and mentorship in investing in and mentoring future business leaders. By building an entrepreneurial culture among the youth, a multiplier effect can be created, where trained business owners establish enterprises, employ workers, and contribute to economic development.

Dr. McKorley's message underscores the need for young business owners to combine the right personal values with sound business management practices to achieve economic empowerment. His entrepreneurial journey focuses on helping others establish businesses capable of creating jobs for additional people, moving economic empowerment beyond individual success towards a cycle of opportunity creation.
