Dr. Ahmed Mouloud Mohamed Mahmoud, head of the health center in Acharam, Mauritania, has spoken out about what he describes as disruptions to his administrative and legal situation. He claims that over a year ago, he was verbally transferred to the health center in M'Griya, despite being appointed to Acharam by the Ministry of Health on September 13, 2023. Dr. Mahmoud states that he received a 72-hour notice for absence from M'Griya, but insists his designated workplace is Acharam.

Dr. Mahmoud explained that he arrived at Acharam health center on September 13, 2023, but only took over financial responsibilities in July 2025. During his tenure, the pharmacy's resources increased significantly. He began with an amount just over half a million ouguiyas and within three months, the pharmacy's liquidity and medication value tripled. Dr. Mahmoud used the accumulated internal revenue to equip two hospitalization rooms, a nurse's room, and the pharmacy.

The dispute began when Dr. Mahmoud corresponded with the authorities regarding an employee at Acharam health center. He claims this fell under his jurisdiction as head of the center, but was unexpectedly verbally transferred to M'Griya by the former governor. Dr. Mahmoud accuses the regional health director of deliberately delaying the transfer. He refused the transfer, citing his original appointment letter from the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Mahmoud states that he was working to improve conditions at Acharam despite many shortcomings. He opened a bank account for the pharmacy and paid accumulated allowances for nurses and generators. However, he was informed that the regional health director had sent his name to the Ministry of Health as an employee at M'Griya, which Dr. Mahmoud disputes.

Dr. Mahmoud provided documents to the census committee, which he claims prove his designated workplace is Acharam. The committee advised him to consult with the governor, who asked him to file a complaint through administrative channels. Dr. Mahmoud has since corresponded with the current Minister of Health, Naha Bent Mknas.

Dr. Mahmoud received a 72-hour notice for absence from M'Griya, which he claims does not reflect the reality of his situation. He asserts that he was not absent from Acharam, but rather removed from it. Dr. Mahmoud expresses willingness to return to Acharam and resume work, provided he is allowed to work at the center where he was appointed.

Dr. Mahmoud rejects the decision to prove his absence from M'Griya, which he believes is an injustice. He intends to continue demanding his rights through administrative and union channels. The complaint has not received a response from the Ministry of Health or regional authorities.
