The agreements were signed by Mauritanian Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mohamedou Ahmedou Amhimid, and French Ambassador to Mauritania, Emmanuel Besny, along with other officials. The agreements include a 21 million euro loan and a 4 million euro protocol agreement to support civil protection and vocational training projects.

The 21 million euro loan will be used to finance a project aimed at supporting civil protection by enhancing its capabilities and resilience to various risks. The project will help establish a national civil protection school, build and equip ten new centers, and create a volunteer civil protection force. Additionally, the project will reactivate the free green number for reporting accidents and emergencies and train local elected officials in disaster management.

The 4 million euro protocol agreement will be used to finance a project supporting the National Industrial Technical and Vocational Training School in Nouakchott. The project aims to establish a model institute for vocational and technical education specializing in industrial refrigeration, electricity, welding, and carpentry. This will help modernize training equipment, increase the capabilities of trainers, and provide qualified workers that meet labor market needs.
