On the sidelines of the 8th Marrakech Airshow, Morocco's Industry and Trade Ministry signed three cooperation protocols with global aviation industry leaders. The agreements aim to enhance the country's competitive and integrated aerospace industry. The Marrakech Airshow, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, brings together industry professionals and showcases the latest technologies.

The first protocol, with APS Coating, involves a €18 million investment to establish a surface treatment unit for aerospace components, creating 120 direct jobs. The second agreement, with MATIS, will develop an industrial unit for manufacturing aerospace electrical harnesses, with a $16.457 million investment and 750 direct jobs. The third protocol, with MECAPOLE and the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), focuses on developing aerospace component machining capabilities for planes and helicopters, with a €10 million investment and 80 direct jobs.

Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour emphasized that the agreements reflect King Mohammed VI's vision for the aerospace industry, including projects in assembly and aerospace structures. These projects will enhance sector development, national competencies, and innovation partnerships with global leaders. The deals also cover innovation, technology development, and leveraging international expertise.

Minister Mezzour highlighted that Morocco's aerospace sector currently employs around 25,000 people, with an annual growth rate of over 10%. This growth demonstrates the development of a globally recognized industrial ecosystem. The Marrakech Airshow 2026, taking place until October 10, showcases Morocco's aerospace industry progress and diversification.
