The Mansoura National University council, led by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, recently honored outstanding students and administrative staff for their exceptional achievements. The ceremony took place during a university council session, attended by council members. The honorees included Dr. Ahmed Abu El-Rish, a staff member in student affairs, who received his Ph.D., as well as students who excelled in scientific research and publishing.
The honored students included Yara Fathy Mohamed Suleiman, a fourth-year medical student, who published a research paper in a Q1-ranked international journal and was accepted into the 2026 European Academy of Neurology annual conference. Additionally, Mustafa Mohamed Darwish and Anas Al-Qatifi, fifth-year medical students, were recognized for publishing research papers on rare neurological cases in the Q2-ranked EJNPN journal.
Other notable students who received honors include Ahmed Osama Abu El-Atta, a fifth-year medical student, who participated in a distinguished research project at the 2026 International Conference on Communications and presented an innovative model using artificial intelligence to diagnose heart diseases. A group of students from the radiology and medical imaging program, including Samaa Ahmed El-Sayed, Abrar Wael Ezzat, Amany Hamdy Kasab, and Meriem Ihab Gawda, were also honored for their collaborative research published in Q2-ranked journals.
In the field of student excellence, the university recognized Ziاد Ihab Mahmoud from the Faculty of Medicine and Carmen Mohamed Al-Qabrpsli from the Faculty of Pharmacy as the outstanding student and student of the year for the 2025/2026 academic year. Furthermore, students who won prizes in the second season of the Tarab Music and Singing Festival for Egyptian universities in 2026 were also honored.
The honored students who won in the Tarab festival include Haydi Alaa Ramadan, who won first prize in individual singing, Tasneem Mohamed Awad, who won second prize in individual instrumental performance, and Ahmed Yasser Qalq, who won third prize in individual instrumental performance. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim emphasized that excellence is a fundamental pillar in building a stimulating university environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Dr. Abdel Azim announced that the university will provide financial rewards to outstanding students who publish research in international journals, particularly those ranked Q1 and Q2, to support scientific research and encourage continued achievement. He also stated that honoring outstanding individuals is not only a celebration of their accomplishments but also a message to all university affiliates to promote a culture of excellence, appreciation, and achievement.
