In preparation for the 22 September celebrations, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Colonel-major Bakary Bocar Maïga, briefed journalists on the arrangements made for the event. He emphasized the importance of punctuality for security reasons and announced that the departure for the ceremony will be from the Dirpa headquarters at 6:00 am sharp.
Journalists were informed that they can take their place in the press lounge, but cameramen will have a dedicated time to take pictures. The dispatching of badges will be done on Tuesday morning at Dirpa. The ORTM will be the only structure authorized to cover the review of troops by the President of the Transition, General of the army Assimi Goïta, with live broadcast.
According to Lieutenant Sory Ibrahima Konaté, over fifty accreditations were received, justifying the measures taken. He guaranteed that the images and interview of the Head of State will be shared with journalists as soon as possible, but after processing. He also highlighted that this year's device is different from last year's, with facilitated access for journalists.
Journalists are allowed to use any type of device, except phones, which are not authorized during presidential activities. The festivities' program includes a flower wreath deposit by President Goïta at the Independence Boulevard monument, in homage to the nation's fathers. However, media coverage of this specific sequence will not be open to private media.
