On September 24, 2026, Mali's Prime Minister, General Abdoulaye Maïga, officially launched three major projects under the "Mali Kura" initiative. The ceremony, held at the Prime Minister's office, brought together government members, religious leaders, traditional authorities, and civil society representatives. These projects aim to transform the country and promote national cohesion. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these initiatives in achieving the goals set out by the President of the Transition during the National Assemblies of Refoundation.

The first project focuses on mobilizing citizens for national construction through the National Citizen Mobilization Strategy. This strategy is built on four pillars: "Maliden Kura", "Maaya ni Danbe", "Mali kura jɔsen", and "Faso Nieta Kunafoni". The goal is to create spaces for citizens to participate in collective life and national development efforts. This initiative aims to encourage Malian citizens to take ownership of their country's development and promote a sense of national unity.

The second project aims to eradicate begging by addressing its root causes through the National Strategy to Combat Begging (2026-2028). This approach focuses on social protection rather than repression, emphasizing child protection, family responsibility, support for Koranic teachers, inclusive education, and reintegration. The strategy seeks to develop sustainable solutions to poverty and preserve human dignity.

The third project focuses on promoting peace and national cohesion by preserving the values of living together. The Prime Minister highlighted the risks of division caused by hate speech and social media misuse. The initiative aims to promote harmonious relationships and prevent violent extremism. A reflection committee will be established to contribute to the harmonization of practices, management of places of worship, and prevention of violent extremism.

These projects are part of the National Charter for Peace and Reconciliation adopted in July 2025. The Prime Minister emphasized that they are not just administrative programs but essential elements of a societal project based on citizen participation, human dignity, and national cohesion. He called on all Malians to consider themselves "sentinels of national cohesion", promoting dialogue and rejecting divisive discourse.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of transmitting the sense of common good to future generations. This, he believes, is crucial for building the "Mali Kura". The launch of these projects demonstrates the government's commitment to promoting national development, social justice, and human dignity.

The "Mali Kura" initiative is a comprehensive project that aims to transform Mali and promote national cohesion. The three projects launched by the Prime Minister are critical components of this initiative, which seeks to promote citizen engagement, dignity, and national unity. The success of these projects will depend on the active participation of all Malians.
