The Malian government has officially launched the "Mali Kura" forum, a major investment event scheduled to take place on December 11-12, 2026, at the Bamako International Conference Center. The forum was launched on September 24, 2026, at the Radisson Collection Bamako, under the presidency of Minister Moussa Alassane Diallo, with the high patronage of General Assimi Goïta. The event aims to promote Mali as a prime investment destination in West Africa.

The forum will bring together around 1,000 participants, including over 400 international investors, and will feature high-level panels, B2B and B2G meetings, and presentations of priority projects. Seven countries have been invited as guests of honor: China, Türkiye, India, Morocco, Russia, Burkina Faso, and Niger. This diversity reflects Mali's efforts to diversify its strategic partnerships and attract foreign investment.

The forum will focus on four key themes: industrialization and local transformation of raw materials, reasons to invest in Mali, securing investments, and financing productive projects. The event is organized by the Agency for the Promotion of Investments in Mali (API-Mali), under the coordination of its Director General, Ibrahim Ahamadou Touré.

During the launch conference, recent reforms to Mali's business environment were highlighted, including incentive tax regimes, special economic zones, and international guarantees. The identified promising sectors include agro-industry, mining and energy, digital technology, infrastructure, and livestock. These sectors are expected to attract significant investment and drive economic growth.

The Malian government has implemented various measures to create a favorable investment climate, including the establishment of a one-stop shop for investors and the simplification of administrative procedures. The government aims to increase foreign investment and promote economic development, particularly in the industrial and agricultural sectors.

The "Mali Kura" forum is expected to provide a platform for investors to explore business opportunities in Mali and engage with government officials, private sector representatives, and other stakeholders. The event will also offer a chance for Mali to showcase its potential and competitive advantages, such as its strategic location, natural resources, and young workforce.

The success of the forum will depend on various factors, including the level of participation, the quality of the discussions, and the concrete outcomes in terms of investment commitments. The Malian government is optimistic about the forum's potential to attract significant investment and boost economic growth.
