The governments of Burkina Faso and Mali have launched a joint emergency plan to provide humanitarian aid to hundreds of Burkinabè citizens who were forcibly deported from Guinea. The deportation, which occurred suddenly and without prior notice, has left the affected individuals in a state of distress. According to Mahamadou Sana, the Burkinabè Minister of Security, the deportees were subjected to inhumane treatment, including physical violence and cruel conditions.

The Burkinabè Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, was dispatched to Bamako to coordinate the relief efforts with the Malian government. He expressed his gratitude to the Malian people and government for their warm welcome and support. Sana strongly condemned the unilateral action taken by the Guinean authorities, which he described as inhumane and a blatant disregard for basic human rights. The Malian government has deployed a team of officials, including the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, General Daoud Aly Mohammedine, to work with their Burkinabè counterparts.

An emergency response plan has been put in place to provide immediate assistance to the deportees. The Burkinabè government has chartered over 100 buses to transport the affected individuals back to their homes. Half of the buses were already on the road, making initial rotations on the first day. Temporary accommodation facilities have also been set up to provide medical, psychological, and social support to the deportees.

The joint operation requires close coordination between the two governments. A delegation of ministers and diplomats from both countries, including the Burkinabè Minister of Family and Solidarity, Lieutenant-Colonel Passowendé Pélagie Kaboré, and the Malian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mme Dembélé Madina Sissoko, are working together to ensure the success of the operation.

The deportees were reportedly pushed out of Guinea without any consideration for their well-being. Many of them bear physical and emotional scars from the ordeal. The Burkinabè ambassador to Mali has deployed a team to provide initial support to the affected individuals along the border and in Bamako.

The joint effort by the two governments aims to restore dignity and security to the deported Burkinabè citizens. All parties involved are working tirelessly to ensure that each individual is safely returned to their home. The operation is a testament to the solidarity and cooperation between Mali and Burkina Faso.

The incident has highlighted the need for better coordination and communication between countries in the region. The two governments have vowed to work together to prevent such incidents in the future and to provide support to those affected by deportation.
