Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who is the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has appointed Felix Hassan Hyat as the Director-General of his National Campaign Management Committee. Hyat, a former Minister of State for Aviation, will lead the campaign's efforts to sell the party's "Reset Nigeria" message and mobilise support for the APM ahead of the 2027 presidential election. This appointment was announced by Makinde's Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Mr Anthony Ehilebo.
Hyat, a former Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), brings wealth of experience in political strategy, administration, mobilisation, and communications to the campaign. He will work with other officials, including former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma, as Deputy Director-General, Administration, and Hon. Dr Anthony Aziegbemi as Deputy Director-General, Operations. The campaign leadership will also work with the APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, and the party's National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle.
The appointments are designed to strengthen the organisational structure and nationwide engagement of the campaign. Other members of the campaign management team include Alhaji Hamza Akuyam Koshe, Director, Contact and Mobilisation; Barrister Mark Jacob, Director, Legal and Compliance; Dr Ade Adeagbo, Director, Administration and Strategy; and Hon. Richard Ihediwa, Director, Strategic Communications. The team will coordinate the party's activities across the country.
The campaign organisation said further appointments would be announced in due course. Ehilebo quoted Makinde as urging APM members, supporters, and other Nigerians who identify with the "Reset Nigeria" message to remain committed to the campaign as preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify. Makinde's appointment of Hyat and other officials is seen as a strategic move to boost the campaign's chances.
Hyat's political experience, alongside that of Ciroma and Aziegbemi, is expected to enhance the campaign's organisational structure and nationwide engagement. The team includes Alhaji Yusuf Ismaila Alkali, Director, Finance; Dr Emmanuel Dennis, Director, Volunteers, Special Interests and Support Groups; and Alhaji Suleiman Hussaini Kankia, Director, Security and Intelligence. Hon. Mrs Toyin Balogun was named Director, Women Coordination, while Alhaji Umar Bida Ndabrama will serve as Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Documentation.
