Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who is also the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, has appointed former Minister of State for Aviation, Felix Hyat, as Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation. This appointment is in preparation for the 2027 presidential election. Makinde made this announcement through a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Anthony Ehilebo.
Alongside Hyat's appointment, Makinde also named former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma, and Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi as Deputy Directors-General for Administration and Operations, respectively. These appointments aim to bring together experienced political strategists, administrators, and mobilisers to drive the party's "Reset Nigeria" message across the country. The campaign organisation believes that these appointments will strengthen their efforts to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.
Felix Hyat, a former Minister of State for Aviation and former Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, will lead the campaign's efforts to take the "Reset Nigeria" message to Nigerians. His decades of public service and wide political network, alongside the experience of Ciroma and Aziegbemi, are expected to enhance the campaign's organisation and engagement across the country. Makinde's campaign organisation is focused on conveying a message of change and development to Nigerian voters.
The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation has also unveiled directors to oversee various aspects of the campaign. These include mobilisation, legal and compliance, administration and strategy, strategic communications, finance, security and intelligence, women and youth coordination, and monitoring and documentation. Some of the notable appointments include Alhaji Hamza Akuyam Koshe as Director of Contact and Mobilisation, Barrister Mark Jacob as Director of Legal and Compliance, and Dr. Ade Adeagbo as Director of Administration and Strategy.
Makinde's campaign leadership will work closely with APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, and other party leaders to coordinate the national campaign. The Oyo State governor is confident that with this team, the party will effectively convey its message and secure victory in the 2027 presidential election. The campaign organisation is expected to begin its activities soon.
Other appointees to the campaign organisation include Alhaji Yusuf Ismaila Alkali as Director of Finance, Dr. Emmanuel Dennis as Director of Volunteers, Special Interests, and Support Groups, and Alhaji Suleiman Hussaini Kankia as Director of Security and Intelligence. Additionally, Hon. Toyin Balogun was appointed as Director of Women Coordination, Alhaji Umar Bida Ndabrama as Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, and Documentation, and Comrade Armstrong Adah as Director of Youth Coordination.
The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation is set to announce further appointments in due course. Makinde has urged all APM members, supporters, and friends, as well as Nigerians who share the "Reset Nigeria" vision, to remain steadfast and work together towards victory in the 2027 general elections.
