The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, presidential candidate and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will begin a series of zonal town hall meetings across Nigeria. This is part of their consultations and mobilisation efforts for the 2027 general elections. The meetings will be held in the six geopolitical zones, allowing citizens, community stakeholders, and grassroots supporters to interact with the campaign.
The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation announced that the town hall meetings will provide opportunities for direct interaction with voters and stakeholders. The meetings will focus on engaging Nigerians and discussing issues affecting the country. According to Anthony Ehilebo, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to Makinde, the interactions will be broad-based and citizen-driven.
The first phase of the town hall meetings will begin in the North-west, with the opening meeting scheduled to take place in Katsina State on September 22. Other zones will host their meetings in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on September 25; Lafia, Nasarawa State, on September 28; and Enugu on September 30. The campaign organisation plans to cover the remaining geopolitical zones as part of its nationwide consultation programme.

The APM recently won the Bauchi State House of Assembly by-election, which the campaign organisation cited as evidence of increasing support for the party. The campaign organisation called on Nigerians to participate in the town hall meetings and raise issues concerning their communities and the wider country.
