The Rassemblement national des indépendants (RNI) party is gearing up for Morocco's legislative elections on September 23, with a renewed focus on its electoral program, dubbed "Dignité et opportunités pour tous" (Dignity and opportunities for all). According to the party's president, Mohamed Chouki, the program is built on the party's recent nationwide tours, which allowed them to engage with citizens and understand their concerns and expectations.
Chouki presented the program during a meeting in Tétouan, attended by former party president Aziz Akhannouch and several national RNI officials. He emphasized that the program is grounded in realistic and feasible proposals, prioritizing socio-economic issues, preserving dignity, and creating jobs. The RNI aims to provide opportunities for young people, promote development, and foster economic and social emancipation.
The RNI's program also builds on the achievements of the previous government, led by Chouki. He highlighted the party's focus on education, citing the "Écoles pionnières" initiative, which is being rolled out in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, with over 1,000 new teachers recruited. Additionally, Chouki noted that over 2,000 new businesses have been created in the region, demonstrating the party's commitment to supporting investment and entrepreneurship.
In the healthcare sector, Chouki reported significant progress, with the number of people benefiting from health coverage increasing from 9 million to over 32 million, with 10 million exempt from financial contributions. He also announced the creation of 36 new hospitals and the construction of 50 more, as well as the upgrading of over 1,400 health centers and dispensaries.
The RNI's program also includes measures to support social welfare, with four million citizens receiving direct financial assistance each month. Chouki highlighted initiatives targeting farmers, transport professionals, and the tourism sector. Furthermore, he reaffirmed the party's commitment to improving salaries and pensions, with a proposed minimum wage of 5,000 dirhams and harmonization of agricultural sector salaries with other sectors.
During the meeting, the RNI's electoral program for the Chamber of Representatives was presented, along with the party's candidates in the eight local constituencies and the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima regional constituency. The party aims to build on its past achievements and offer a compelling vision for Morocco's future.
