The government of Ghana has commenced land preparation for the construction of a modern 400-bed Mother and Child Block at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Other facilities will include Fertility and Reproductive Health Clinics, Breastfeeding and Family Planning Units, an Emergency Obstetric Care Unit, Diagnostic Imaging Department, Laboratory and Blood Bank Facilities, and a Pharmacy Department.
In addition to these facilities, the project will further provide a Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Units, alongside facilities for teaching, research, and conferences. This comprehensive range of services will make the new Mother and Child Block a state-of-the-art healthcare facility. The project is expected to improve healthcare delivery in Ghana.
