The tribute to Sensei Frensley Monneron was one of the highlights of the day. The career of the Mauritian technician was retraced, from his childhood to his evolution over the years through karate. Having had a difficult childhood, Frensley Monneron never gave up on his dream. His determination allowed him to acquire rich experience, which he now transmits to new generations. The organizers also highlighted the friendship ties that have developed over time between the Monneron and Chan Liat families.
A projection on the relations between Mauritius and Réunion allowed for a revisit of the long-standing collaboration between technicians and practitioners from both islands. The day began with a two-hour grade promotion exam, during which candidates were evaluated on their technical mastery and ability to put into practice the teachings received. A seminar led by Mauritian and Réunion experts followed, allowing participants to deepen their knowledge and perfect their techniques.
The technicians also discussed the link between karate and self-defense through fundamentals such as posture, balance, movement, gesture control, and self-mastery. A demonstration by the CM Fitness team impressed the public and guests present. The organizers aim to promote the fundamental values of karate through this meeting.
The event was a success, with a large turnout of karatekas and experts from both islands. The seminar provided a platform for participants to learn from experienced technicians and improve their skills. The tribute to Sensei Frensley Monneron was a testament to his dedication and contribution to the sport.
