In a separate operation on September 22, police arrested two suspected arms traffickers, Rayyanu Adamu and Nasiru Abubakar, following an intelligence-led operation around Giwa Local Government Area and the railway station axis. Detectives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit conducted surveillance before arresting the suspects. A search led to the recovery of 270 rounds of AK-47 ammunition and 30 rounds of Type 06 ammunition, totaling 300 rounds.
The Kaduna State Police Command stated that the suspects, including Adamu and Abubakar, are in custody as investigators work to establish the source and intended destination of the ammunition. The police are also investigating whether the recovered firearms have been used in the commission of any criminal activity.
