The KAAF University has matriculated 1,750 fresh students to pursue various academic programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year. The matriculation ceremony took place at the university's premises in Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba. This significant event marks the beginning of a new academic journey for these students.
The matriculants comprise 1,005 females, representing 57.4 percent of the total number, demonstrating the university's commitment to providing access to quality higher education for all. Additionally, 40 students from outside Ghana are among the matriculants, further strengthening the diversity and international character of KAAF University.
Prof Alhassan Musah, Vice-Chancellor of KAAF University, addressed the matriculants during the ceremony. He emphasized that being part of the university community entails more than just academic pursuits. According to him, students are expected to uphold values such as academic excellence, innovation, integrity, discipline, leadership, and service.
Prof Musah highlighted the importance of university education in equipping students with knowledge, critical-thinking abilities, practical skills, and ethical values. He noted that students must develop the discipline to read widely, conduct research, and participate actively in class. The Vice-Chancellor also cautioned students against academic dishonesty and other forms of misconduct.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the world is rapidly changing, with technology, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, climate change, and globalization transforming the nature of work and society. He urged students to be more than just degree holders, but problem-solvers, innovators, ethical leaders, effective communicators, and lifelong learners.
Prof Musah encouraged students to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets and create job opportunities rather than seeking them. He also assured students that the university is committed to providing a conducive environment for learning, innovation, and growth. The Vice-Chancellor administered an oath to the matriculants, marking their official entry into the university community.
The matriculation ceremony was concluded with Dr. Linda Anane Donkor, Registrar of the University, administering the matriculation oath to the fresh students. The KAAF University aims to prepare graduates who can contribute meaningfully to national and global development. With this new batch of students, the university is expected to continue strengthening its academic programmes and student support systems.
