Justin Frimpong Kodua has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana. The election took place at the NPP's National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Kumasi. Kodua, a lawyer and former Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, first became NPP General Secretary in 2022 after defeating then-incumbent John Boadu.

Kodua faced competition from three other candidates: former Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro MP Sylvester Tetteh, former Subin MP Eugene Boakye Antwi, and National Treasurer Dr Charles Dwamena. He was listed as number three on the ballot paper. The election was part of the NPP's process of selecting nine national executives to lead the party as it rebuilds following its defeat in the 2024 general election.

The NPP's national executive elections aimed to reorganize the party's structures and prepare for the 2028 general elections. As General Secretary, Kodua is responsible for significant aspects of the party's day-to-day administration, organisational coordination, and communication. Ahead of the 2026 contest, Kodua pledged to consolidate organisational reforms, strengthen the party's grassroots structures, and intensify preparations for the 2028 elections.

The NPP's National Delegates Conference also saw the election of other national executives. Kojo Bamba, Henry Nana Boakye, and Nana Akomea were elected as NPP Vice Chairmen. Hawa Koomson was elected as the NPP National Women's Organiser, while Titus Glover won the NPP National Organiser race on his second attempt. These elections are crucial for the party's reorganization and preparation for future elections.

The NPP's rebuild process has been led by John Boadu, who has unveiled a new strategy to win back youth and modernize the party. Boadu has also emphasized the need for teamwork and discipline to drive the NPP's 2028 victory. The party's leadership has urged aspirants to work together and be part of the 2028 campaign, emphasizing that there is enough work for all.

In his post-election statement, Kodua emphasized the importance of teamwork and discipline in driving the NPP's 2028 victory. He also thanked the party's delegates for re-electing him as General Secretary. The NPP's national executive elections have been seen as a crucial step towards the party's reorganization and preparation for future elections.

The NPP's leadership has called for unity within the party, with John Boadu urging members to choose unity over division. The party's rebuild process is expected to continue with the newly elected national executives, who will work to strengthen the party's grassroots structures and prepare for the 2028 general elections.
