Newly elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has outlined his vision for rebuilding the party from the grassroots ahead of the 2028 general election. Speaking after his election at the party's National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, Mr Boadu emphasised the need to strengthen the NPP's structures and restore its organisational strength. He stated that strong parties are not sustained by past achievements alone but by their ability to learn, renew themselves, and respond to a changing society.

Mr Boadu's administration aims to build a renewed NPP that listens more, consults more, and organises better. He noted that the rebuilding effort would involve regional and constituency executives, external branches, Members of Parliament, patrons, and other organised groups within the party. Additionally, the party would deepen its relationship with voluntary groups, TESCON members, social media practitioners, and the traditional media. According to Mr Boadu, a modern political organisation must engage every means of communicating responsibility.

The new chairman placed particular emphasis on young people, stating that they must see the NPP as their home. He promised greater attention to tertiary institutions as centres for political dialogue and leadership development. Mr Boadu also called for stronger engagement with the business community and Ghanaian entrepreneurs to promote opportunities and enterprise. He stressed that electoral success cannot be taken for granted and must be earned through service, organisation, credibility, and the trust of the Ghanaian people.

Mr Boadu's rebuilding strategy involves strengthening constituency structures, empowering the youth, supporting women, valuing professionals, and listening to traditional and religious leaders. He also emphasised the need for the party to embrace technology while maintaining personal relationships that have sustained it. According to Mr Boadu, the party would work with its flagbearer and national leadership to strengthen its organisational and financial foundation, particularly at the constituency level.

The NPP National Chairman urged party members to choose "unity over division, service over personal ambition, organisation over disorder, and hope over despair." He expressed his commitment to serving the party with humility, leading through consultation, and working with every part of the party to restore its winning machinery. Mr Boadu concluded by declaring that victory is assured in the year 2028.

The election of Mr Boadu as National Chairman follows a heated leadership contest within the NPP. He has since moved to unite the party, urging members to put aside their differences and work towards a common goal. According to sources, Mr Boadu's strategy has been well-received by party members, who are optimistic about the party's chances in the 2028 election.

The NPP's 2028 campaign will likely focus on issues such as economic development, education, and healthcare. The party's performance in the election will depend on various factors, including its ability to connect with voters, particularly the youth, and its track record in office. With Mr Boadu at the helm, the NPP is expected to intensify its grassroots mobilisation efforts and present a united front ahead of the 2028 general election.
