Jetour Nigeria is set to bring its X70 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle to Abuja as the automobile brand intensifies its drive to expand its footprint and strengthen its relationship with consumers in Nigeria. The event, scheduled to hold from September 22 to 24, 2026, at the Maha Event Centre, Area 8, will bring together prospective vehicle buyers, existing customers, motoring enthusiasts, and other stakeholders.
The Abuja activation follows a similar customer-focused experience staged in Lagos earlier in the year, which generated strong consumer interest, with visitors taking part in test drives and making enquiries that translated into increased sales activity across several models. According to Jetour Nigeria, the decision to take the experience to Abuja was largely prompted by growing demand from customers in the Federal Capital Territory and neighbouring states.
At the Abuja event, visitors will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the X70 PHEV and other Jetour models while interacting directly with the company’s product specialists. The specialists are expected to provide information on the vehicles’ performance, safety features, hybrid technology, comfort, and other specifications.
The X70 PHEV is expected to attract particular attention because of its combination of a conventional petrol engine and electric propulsion. The vehicle uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, a 19.43kWh battery, and a dedicated hybrid transmission. Its powertrain is designed to balance driving performance with improved fuel efficiency by allowing the vehicle to draw on both its internal-combustion engine and electric power system.
The vehicle also offers several methods of managing its battery, including fast and slow charging, engine charging, and regenerative braking. Regenerative braking enables the vehicle to recover some of the energy generated during deceleration and return it to the battery.
For Nigerian motorists, the plug-in hybrid configuration could offer an alternative to both conventional petrol vehicles and fully electric vehicles by retaining an internal-combustion engine while incorporating battery-powered technology. The company is expected to use the Abuja event to explain the operation and benefits of the system to prospective customers who may be unfamiliar with plug-in hybrid technology.
Alongside its product and technology offering, Jetour is also seeking to reassure customers about after-sales support. Jetour Nigeria, the country’s sole authorised distributor, backs the X70 PHEV with a five-year or 150,000-kilometre warranty. The warranty is part of the company’s strategy to build confidence among Nigerian buyers as it introduces vehicles incorporating relatively new technologies into the market.
