Members of different inter-ethnic nationalities in Edo State recently organized a massive road walk in Benin metropolis to demonstrate their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027. The event, which started at King Square in Ring Road, proceeded through Mission Road and ended at the Ministry of Education. The coordinator of the road walk, Anayochukwu Oli, who is from Enugu State and a former Commissioner for Inter-ethnic Relations, expressed confidence that the 2.5 million votes promised to President Tinubu would be delivered during the general election.
The road walk was a show of solidarity by various inter-ethnic nationalities in Edo State, including the Niger Delta Indegene, Yoruba ethnic nationality, and Igbo woman leader, Hon. Okechukwu Victoria. They expressed their readiness to mobilize support for President Tinubu and other All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates in the forthcoming general election. The participants were enthusiastic about the president's developmental agenda and his efforts to promote growth and development in Nigeria.
Anayochukwu Oli, the coordinator of the road walk, emphasized that the victory of APC candidates in the general election would be by a wide margin. He noted that the group would continue to sensitize the people about the good works of President Tinubu and the need to return him for a second term to complete his developmental agenda. Oli urged everyone to continue to preach to others about the president's good intentions for Nigeria and his reforms, which might be difficult but are necessary for the growth, development, and stability of the Nigerian economy.
President of Niger Delta Indegene in Edo State, Elder Pius Iyamu, stated that the road walk was aimed at galvanizing support for President Tinubu's re-election. He said that the Niger Delta Indegene and other indigenous nationalities living in Edo State are committed to delivering the 2.5 million votes promised to the president. Iyamu added that they would carry out door-to-door campaigns to mobilize and canvass support for votes for President Tinubu and other APC candidates.
Moshood Kolawole, who spoke on behalf of the Yoruba ethnic nationality in the State, said that they participated in the road walk to ensure President Tinubu wins his second term re-election bid. He emphasized that they are committed to the progress, growth, and development of Nigeria, which President Tinubu stands for. Kolawole added that they are in support of the president's policies and programs, which have positively impacted the lives of Nigerians.
Hon. Okechukwu Victoria, Igbo woman leader in Edo State, expressed confidence that the crowd that participated in the road walk shows readiness to deliver President Tinubu in the general election come 2027. She said that the 2.5 million votes promised to the president are sure, and President Tinubu will be returned to Aso Rock for the second time. Victoria added that the event has demonstrated the commitment of various inter-ethnic nationalities in Edo State to support President Tinubu's re-election bid.
The participants at the road walk also appreciated President Tinubu for his educational policy, which has created a platform for students to access interest-free loans to support their education.
