He also highlighted the significance of the Suez Canal Economic Zone for India, with a desire to establish an Indian economic zone in Egypt, given the presence of many Indian factories and companies.
The ambassador noted that discussions are ongoing with Indian investors and businessmen regarding the proposed location for the economic zone, but a final decision has not been made. He also mentioned that India's trade volume amounts to approximately $1.4 trillion, with the Suez Canal playing a crucial role in supporting global trade movement and providing stability that helps maintain international trade flow.
Rendi revealed details of the meeting between President El-Sisi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the BRICS summit, discussing several regional and international issues of mutual interest. The talks covered the Palestinian issue, with India opposing the displacement of Palestinians, and the importance of reforming the United Nations.
The ambassador added that the meeting also addressed energy and global trade challenges, emphasizing the need for cooperation among developing countries in a globalized world. He stressed that developing countries require strengthening cooperation, especially with declining levels of cooperation between countries in recent times.
