Distraction and inattention were the second leading cause of fatalities, responsible for 177 deaths, followed by cutting off other vehicles, which caused 65 deaths.
The governorate of Tunis has recorded the highest number of traffic accidents, with 403 incidents resulting in 76 deaths and 496 injuries. The governorate of Mahdia has also recorded a high number of accidents, with 284 incidents resulting in 47 deaths and 349 injuries. On the other hand, the governorate of Kébili has recorded the lowest number of accidents, with 43 incidents resulting in 13 deaths and 65 injuries.
