President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prayed for wisdom and strength at the Holy Ka'abah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, as he observed the lesser hajj, or Umrah. During his supplication, Tinubu submitted his re-election challenges to Allah, expressing trust in the Almighty. The President performed a symbolic sunnah, holding and kissing the Al-Hajar al-Aswad, or Black Stone, which is one of the most sacred objects in Islam.

The Black Stone, embedded in the southeastern corner of the Holy Ka'abah, is surrounded by a silver frame and held in great reverence by Muslims. According to Islamic tradition, the stone came from paradise and was kissed by Prophet Mohammad. Tinubu's act was an expression of faith and reverence, not an act of worshipping the stone. The President reflected on his spiritual journey to the Holy land, where he was granted a rare privilege by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to lead Nigeria's delegation in prayer inside the Holy Ka'abah.

During his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tinubu offered prayers of gratitude to Allah for the privilege of serving as Nigeria's President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Sheikh Dahlulah Muthawal of Masjid al-Haram led the President into the Ka'abah. Tinubu expressed his gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and his delegation the opportunity to enter the Holy Ka'abah and offer prayers.

The President described the experience as historic and deeply cherished, reflecting the longstanding bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. Tinubu noted that the fencing of the Ka'abah in Green-White-Green, Nigeria's national colors, was a reminder of the country's identity. He thanked the Crown Prince and administrators of the holy land for their hospitality and recognition.

Tinubu acknowledged that Nigeria is facing challenges and hostility, but expressed confidence that the country will overcome them with faith in God Almighty. The President asked Allah for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians and expressed confidence that his prayers have been answered. He recalled asking Allah to bless his Umrah before the 2023 election and promised to return and thank Him.

The President concluded his five-day visit to Saudi Arabia, during which he was granted a rare privilege by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Tinubu's visit strengthened the relationship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, with both countries sharing a deep history of cooperation and mutual respect. The President's experience at the Holy Ka'abah was a significant moment in his spiritual journey.
