The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing revenue, costs, margins, and profitability across services, partners, and locations. The analyst will prepare management reports, forecasts, and budget-versus-actual analysis, highlighting key variances and their drivers. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will analyze transaction volumes, commissions, and margins to identify profitable and underperforming services. The role will also involve monitoring float utilization, working capital, and liquidity, and supporting efficient allocation of capital.
To qualify for the position, candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, business, commerce, or another numerically focused discipline. Approximately 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, commercial finance, treasury, investment analysis, revenue assurance, or a related field is required. Experience in fintech, banking, payments, mobile money, financial services, telecoms, or another transaction-driven environment is an advantage. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or CFA are also an added advantage.
The ideal candidate should possess strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, data analysis, and financial modeling. The ability to work with large datasets and translate data into meaningful business insights is essential. Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence/data visualization tools is also an advantage. The Financial Analyst should be commercially curious and analytical, comfortable questioning numbers, and identifying what drives business performance.
The successful candidate should be proactive and able to turn analysis into practical recommendations. The Financial Analyst should be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
