The Guinean Media Employers' Federation (FEPAP-GUI) was created on October 8 and is led by Amadou Tham Camara. On October 30, 2026, the federation presented its executive bureau to Boubacar Yacine Diallo, President of the High Authority of Communication (HAC). This meeting allowed the federation's leaders to discuss the challenges faced by media companies, particularly regarding economic viability.

The FEPAP-GUI's delegation, led by Amadou Tham Camara, included representatives from the General Confederation of Guinean Enterprises (CGE-GUI). Ismaël Keïta, Vice-President of CGE-GUI, emphasized the importance of building an autonomous, sustainable, and transparent federation. The federation aims to be recognized as a key player in the Guinean media landscape.

Amadou Tham Camara highlighted the difficulties faced by media companies, including high fiscal and social charges, limited access to bank financing, insufficient advertising revenue, and increasing competition from international digital platforms. The federation seeks support from HAC and CGE-GUI to advocate for adapted taxation, better access to financing, and effective integration into private sector support mechanisms.

The FEPAP-GUI proposes establishing a permanent framework for consultation between HAC, CGE-GUI, and FEPAP-GUI to address these concerns. Amadou Tham Camara suggested that this framework would help transform concerns into concrete actions and measurable results. The federation also aims to encourage commercial partnerships between CGE-GUI member companies and Guinean media outlets.

Boubacar Yacine Diallo welcomed the creation of FEPAP-GUI and identified three priority areas for collaboration: sanitizing the media landscape, managing public subsidies for private media, and adapting the legal framework to technological changes. He emphasized the need for responsibility and fairness in distributing public subsidies and called for better regulation of media creation and operation.

The HAC President also stressed the importance of protecting legally established media outlets and respecting regulatory provisions. He encouraged FEPAP-GUI members to preserve their unity and prioritize dialogue in defending professional interests. The meeting marked a significant step in the development of the Guinean media sector.
