Guinean musician Abdoul Aziz Bangoura, popularly known as Marcus, Hugo Le God, or Konko Malela, is currently facing a challenging health situation. He has been hospitalized in Istanbul, Turkey, where he underwent the amputation of a toe. According to reports, his health issues are related to complications from diabetes. Marcus's brother, Souleymane Sow, also known as King Salaman, who is part of the same music group Banlieuz'Art, has been hospitalized as well.
From his hospital bed on the night of September 19, 2026, Marcus shared a heartfelt message on his social media platforms. In his message, he expressed his faith, patience, and acceptance of God's will. He emphasized that "God does not make mistakes" and encouraged his followers to trust in divine plans, even during difficult times. Marcus reflected on the nature of suffering, urging his audience not to view hardships as abandonment by God.
Marcus elaborated on the concept of submitting to God's will, which he believes involves accepting the unknown with faith, understanding that every pain has a purpose, and maintaining hope without resistance. He cited a Quranic verse, "It may be that you dislike something while it is good for you" (Surate 2, verse 216), highlighting the importance of patience and trust in God's plan. Despite the challenges, Marcus described this attitude as "the noblest of attitudes."
The artist further discussed the relationship between the body and illness, attributing both to God's will. He stated that the body is a sanctuary entrusted to humans by God, and only God fully understands its fragility and strength.
