The Green Village, a popular event space in Mauritius, is shifting its focus towards conscious music and family-friendly events. Under the direction of Agathe Desvaux de Marigny, the venue is moving away from its previous emphasis on music and culture, and towards a more intimate and mindful atmosphere. The new direction is inspired by Desvaux de Marigny's personal journey, which has included meditation and yoga practices since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Green Village has been equipped with a dome featuring sound and light projections, a small stage, and a yoga studio. The venue has also added a garden with vegetables, chickens, a cow, a donkey, and a dromedary. This new setup will be showcased during the upcoming events, including Sam Garett's performance on October 10. Garett will share the stage with Arian Mortazavi Sarrafan, Brain Love, and Natty Gong.

Sam Garett's performance is part of a new series of events at the Green Village, which aims to promote conscious music and well-being. The event is organized in collaboration with Otayo and Ticketbox, and tickets are now available. Desvaux de Marigny hopes to create a platform that attracts people who are already interested in conscious music, as well as those who want to discover it.

The Green Village will also host the AWAKE Festival, a two-day event focused on mindfulness, body awareness, and sound. The festival will feature a range of activities, including yoga, breathwork, sound healing, and kirtan. There will also be DJ sets and live concerts, as well as a market offering products and services related to well-being and sustainable living.

The AWAKE Festival is designed to be a family-friendly event, with children under 12 able to participate for free. The festival will also offer a free camping area for attendees. Desvaux de Marigny aims to create a unique and intimate experience that allows people to reconnect with nature and themselves.

The Green Village's new direction is a departure from its previous events, such as Nou Lemorn, which focused on music and local culture. While Desvaux de Marigny is not ruling out the possibility of reviving Nou Lemorn, she is currently focusing on the AWAKE Festival and other events that align with the venue's new vision.

The AWAKE Festival is set to take place on October 31 and November 1, and will feature a range of local and international artists and speakers. The event aims to promote a holistic approach to well-being and mindfulness, and to provide a platform for people to connect with like-minded individuals.
