Do Ghana, a domestic tourism movement initiated by WangoWango, will launch The Great Ghana Day Out on World Tourism Day, Sunday, 27 September 2026. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Joy FM and Joy Prime, aims to invite people across Ghana to step outside and explore more of their country. The movement's core proposition is that tourism is not merely about visitation, but also about circulation and discovering local experiences.

The Great Ghana Day Out will encourage citizens to go somewhere in Ghana, whether it's a neighborhood walk, a visit to a historic site, a meal at a new restaurant, a day at the beach, or a trip to the countryside. Participants will be encouraged to document their experiences, which will be shared through on-air conversations, audience participation, and destination features on Joy FM and Joy Prime.

The initiative marks the beginning of a programme of journeys, experiences, storytelling, and audience participation that will run from September 2026 through Ghana's 70th Independence anniversary year in 2027. The programme, ODUM: The Story of Ghana, is an immersive experience that will explore Ghana's landscapes, agriculture, foodways, communities, histories, culture, and living heritage.

ODUM is a curated journey that connects people with the places where food is grown, traditions are maintained, stories are carried, and contemporary enterprises are being built. This flagship programme will be hosted by BENTSIFI and will create a meeting point between tourism, agriculture, food, culture, and enterprise.

On Monday, 28 September, Joy FM and Joy Prime will extend the activation with “Tell Us Your Ghana”, inviting audiences to share the places, experiences, and stories that make Ghana meaningful to them. This will provide an opportunity for citizens to share their personal connections to the country and its culture.

The Great Ghana Day Out is the public-facing launch of Do Ghana, a domestic tourism movement that seeks to encourage people to travel within Ghana, discover new places, support local enterprise, and create connections between communities. The movement's goal is to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of Ghana's culture, history, and natural heritage.

The programme will culminate in a series of curated journeys, known as Go Ghana, which will take place in 2027. These journeys will explore different chapters of Ghana's inherited landscape, history, and national story, and will be developed as both travel experiences and accompanying road films.
