The Parliamentary Committee on Energy in Ghana has expressed satisfaction with the progress being made at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) following a working visit to the facility. Chairman of the Committee, Emmanuel Bedzrah, stated that members were encouraged by the developments witnessed during the visit.

According to Bedzrah, some of the identified challenges have been addressed, although work remains to be completed, particularly on the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU). The Committee plans to return to the refinery to inspect the facility once the outstanding works are completed.
Ranking Member of the Energy Committee, George Kwame Aboagye, commended the Managing Director of TOR, Edmond Kombat, for the progress made and the refurbishment works underway. He urged management to sustain the momentum and strengthen engagement with workers, stressing that their commitment is essential to the refinery's recovery.
Aboagye also called on the government to ensure that TOR receives adequate supplies of crude oil and other petroleum products to enable it to sustain its operations. He emphasized that access to crude would be critical to allowing the refinery to operate consistently and contribute to meeting the country's petroleum needs.
