The Ghana Police Service is mourning the loss of DCOP Rtr Kwaku Ayesu Opare-Addo, who passed away at the age of 74. DCOP Rtr Kwaku Ayesu Opare-Addo is survived by his widow, Mrs. Comfort Opare-Addo, and six children: Kwadwo Opare-Addo, Tutu Opare-Addo, Ayesu Opare-Addo, Fordjour Opare-Addo, Bryan Opare-Addo, and Emmanuella Smith Opare-Addo. His siblings include Madam Love Addo, Rose Addo, Comfort Addo, and Godfred Ofori-Addo. The family has announced a thanksgiving service to be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Amakom Adventist Church in Kumasi.
The burial service and interment will take place on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Ghana Police Training School ground and the Old Tafo Cemetery in Kumasi, respectively. A family gathering and get-together have also been scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Ghana Police Training School. The police officer's grandchildren, nieces, and nephews have been named, including Oparebea Addo, Maabenanhyira Opare-Addo, and William Ayesu Opare-Addo.
Tributes have been paid to DCOP Rtr Kwaku Ayesu Opare-Addo by various individuals, including former President of the National Association of Retired Police Officers, Boakye-Appiah, and the current President, ACP Florence Arthur. The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Arthur Osei Akoto, and the Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahel States, HE Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, have also sent condolences.
